## When to use Cael

Use Cael when a person wants a date or a night out planned, or wants help remembering what
their partner likes. Best-fit requests:

- Plan a date night, anniversary, birthday dinner or first date in a specific city: plan_date with the request in the person's words; Cael returns timed stops, costs, what to order and a backup.
- Plan around what someone's partner likes, avoids or is allergic to: get_partner_file before planning or gift ideas; add_to_partner_file to save a lasting fact.
- Check whether a restaurant, bar or venue is open at a given time: lookup_place with the name, city and time.
- Find a concert, comedy show, play or game to add to a date: find_events with the city and days.
- Recall or show dates the person already planned with Cael: list_plans, then get_plan.

Don't use Cael for:

- Booking, paying or sending messages from an assistant. Cael books only inside Cael, after the person approves the plan.
- Restaurant reservations with no date to plan around: use the restaurant's own booking page or a reservation app.
- General questions, travel itineraries or non-date errands.

Cael knows Philadelphia and New York best (its own curated venues) and researches other
cities live. Every tool acts for the person's own Cael account, which they sign in to when
the agent connects.

## How an agent calls Cael

Cael runs a remote MCP server (Model Context Protocol, streamable HTTP transport).

Tools:

- plan_date(brief): Plan a date night from a plain-language brief (occasion, day, city, budget, vibe). Returns the plan with every stop, time and cost and a link to it in Cael, or one question if Cael needs more. It does not book.
- list_plans(limit?) (read-only): The person's saved date plans, newest first.
- get_plan(plan_id) (read-only): One plan with every stop, time and detail.
- get_partner_file() (read-only): What Cael knows about their partner: tastes, things to avoid, allergies, places tried and wanted, key dates.
- add_to_partner_file(note, partner_name?): Save a durable fact about their partner, like an allergy or a favorite place.
- lookup_place(name, city?, when?) (read-only): Check a restaurant, bar or venue: whether it's open at a given time, hours, phone, website and rating.
- find_events(city?, start_date?, end_date?, keywords?, kind?) (read-only): Concerts, comedy, theatre and sports in a city on given days. The person buys tickets from the event's link.

For scripts and automations there is also a plain HTTP endpoint: `POST https://caelagent.com/api/backend/api/v1/message`
with the same bearer key and a JSON body `{"text": "..."}`. It answers `{"reply": "...",
"delivered": false}`, as if the person had texted Cael. Keys made in the dashboard can only
use Cael's read-only tools. Limits: 20 requests a minute and 300 an hour per key.

Rules: nothing is booked, bought or sent from an assistant; the person books from the plan in
Cael, behind its own confirmation. The first plan is free; more need a Cael membership
(https://caelagent.com/membership). A person can also skip the agent and text Cael directly in iMessage,
WhatsApp or Telegram after signing up at https://caelagent.com/.

## What makes it different

Most "date idea" tools stop at a list. Cael runs the whole job: it decides with you (asking
at most one question), builds a whole night that actually flows, books it, reminds you, and asks
how it went — then remembers. It never repeats a place by accident and never serves an
allergen. When a place is full it says so plainly and can watch for a table to open.

## What Cael does

- The plan — a shareable page per date: stops, times, costs, what to order, a backup.
- Booking — restaurant reservations after you approve the plan; it only says "booked"
  when a booking actually went through.
- The partner file — tastes, allergies, sizes, places they want to try, key dates;
  built from your texts, editable and deletable from the dashboard.
- Date history — every date and how it went, so nothing repeats by accident.
- Duo — partners link up, each texts Cael privately, and Cael merges both sides into
  one plan; a pick-your-favorites game surfaces ideas you both chose; surprise mode keeps
  the plan hidden from the other person.
- Heads-ups — anniversaries, birthdays and Valentine's, early enough to get a table.

Inside the messaging apps you already use: iMessage, WhatsApp and Telegram. There is no

history, reminders, and data deletion.

still plans dates, researching live.

## Privacy

Data is isolated per account, integration tokens are encrypted, and browser sessions are
