Cael for developers and AI agents

When to use Cael

Hand a job to Cael when a person wants a date or a night out planned:

• Plan a date night, anniversary, birthday dinner or first date in a specific city. plan_date with the request in the person's words; Cael returns timed stops, costs, what to order and a backup.
• Plan around what someone's partner likes, avoids or is allergic to. get_partner_file before planning or gift ideas; add_to_partner_file to save a lasting fact.
• Check whether a restaurant, bar or venue is open at a given time. lookup_place with the name, city and time.
• Find a concert, comedy show, play or game to add to a date. find_events with the city and days.
• Recall or show dates the person already planned with Cael. list_plans, then get_plan.

Don’t use Cael for:

• Booking, paying or sending messages from an assistant. Cael books only inside Cael, after the person approves the plan.
• Restaurant reservations with no date to plan around: use the restaurant's own booking page or a reservation app.
• General questions, travel itineraries or non-date errands.

Cael MCP server

Remote MCP server (Model Context Protocol), streamable HTTP transport:

• OAuth 2.1 sign-in with PKCE (S256) and dynamic client registration. Discovery documents: https://backend-production-f9bda.up.railway.app/.well-known/oauth-protected-resource and https://backend-production-f9bda.up.railway.app/.well-known/oauth-authorization-server. The person signs in to their own Cael account and chooses Allow.
• Or a personal API key. The person makes one under Integrations and the agent sends Authorization: Bearer <key>. Revoking the key disconnects it.

Cael MCP tools

• plan_date(brief): Plan a date night from a plain-language brief (occasion, day, city, budget, vibe). Returns the plan with every stop, time and cost and a link to it in Cael, or one question if Cael needs more. It does not book.
• list_plans(limit?) (read-only): The person's saved date plans, newest first.
• get_plan(plan_id) (read-only): One plan with every stop, time and detail.
• get_partner_file() (read-only): What Cael knows about their partner: tastes, things to avoid, allergies, places tried and wanted, key dates.
• add_to_partner_file(note, partner_name?): Save a durable fact about their partner, like an allergy or a favorite place.
• lookup_place(name, city?, when?) (read-only): Check a restaurant, bar or venue: whether it's open at a given time, hours, phone, website and rating.
• find_events(city?, start_date?, end_date?, keywords?, kind?) (read-only): Concerts, comedy, theatre and sports in a city on given days. The person buys tickets from the event's link.

Cael HTTP API

For scripts and automations, the same personal API key works on one endpoint:

Send {"text": "..."} with Authorization: Bearer <key>. The answer is {"reply": "...", "delivered": false}, as if the person had texted Cael. Keys made in the dashboard can only use Cael’s read-only tools. Limits: 20 requests a minute and 300 an hour per key. Errors: 401 for a missing or wrong key, 429 over a limit.

Rules every integration follows

• Nothing is booked, bought or sent from an agent. The person books from the plan in Cael, behind its own confirmation.
• Each call acts for one signed-in Cael account and sees only that account’s data.
• The first plan is free; more need a Cael membership.

• /llms.txt: the site guide for language models, with every page.
• /llms-full.txt: every article, complete, as one Markdown file.
• Markdown on request: send Accept: text/markdown to the homepage or any article and get Markdown back.
• /sitemap.xml and /feed.xml (RSS).
